About Barrows

  • Moving Retail Forward_ | _Moving People Forward_ | _Moving Communities Forward_
With over 30 years of experience, we are one of the world's leading FMCG retail design and manufacturing businesses. We are based in Durban, Johannesburg, Cape Town, London, New York and Toronto.

We harness the potential of our people, the quality of our products, and the spirit of our organisation to create transformative retail experiences around the world.

As a vertically-integrated business, we conceptualize, design, prototype, manufacture, install, and maintain in-store retail touch points.

We believe that the seamless integration of intelligent digital media, physical point of purchase, and product enables brands to deliver a dynamic and contextually relevant shopper experience that drives sales uplift and differentiates us from our competitors.

Sustainability is a fundamental part of the future of retail.

It is a core strategy of ours and we are looking for ambitious, talented and skilled individuals to join our sustainability team so we can play a part in leading the retail media transition to a low-carbon economy.

About Barrows Sustainability
The Barrows Global sustainability vision is to use business as a force for good.

We strive to be a company that improves the well-being for everyone it impacts and at all scales—every product, every operation, every region and country, and for every stakeholder, including employees, suppliers, communities, customers, and the planet.

We tackle sustainability across three key pillars:

Operations

Products

Services
We are on a journey to Net Zero operations.

We aim to deliver improved and decarbonised retail experiences.

Working with clients, we aim to use climate design as an agent for systemic change.

To date, we have measured our global carbon footprint (Scope 1, 2 and 3) and we are currently road mapping our net zero decarbonisation journey in alignment with the SBTi.

We have won awards for our cleaner production efforts and we have successfully launched award-winning sustainable and circular retail products.
