The incumbent will manage the Procurement department.

This will include the responsibility to execute new improved strategies with regards to the effective management and control of the company's procurement function and also to provide maximum possible contribution towards the profitable growth of the company.

Permanent position based in Sandton


Qualifications:
Relevant Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration.

Project management qualification is advantageous.


Experience:


Minimum 8 years proven experience in Procurement Management of which at least 4 years have been in a management role.

Sound exposure in Engineering and Projects Industry.

Detailed knowledge of procurement principles, processes and procedures.


Administration and Management - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, procurement administration, and coordination of people and resources.

Engineering industry knowledge.

Aptitude in decision making, cost control and working accurately with numbers.

Financial management, budgeting principles and cost control.

Risk management principles.

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES - PROCUREMENT


Manage all aspects of supply chain function and the effective operation thereof within the company and manages the interaction with our holding company.

Develop, hone and execute new improved procurement strategies across company's purchasing function.

Perform detail analysis and set appropriate benchmarking for effective cost management.

Liaise with various departments to determine their product and service's needs.

Nurture relationships with suppliers to negotiate the best prices for the company.

Identify, research and analyse potential suppliers.

Manage the strategic sourcing and cost optimization of product and services.

Ensure compliance with relevant legal and statutory requirements and internal Purchase to Pay (Procurement) guidelines.

Implement and improve on purchasing tools and techniques.

Negotiate with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.

Review and finalise purchase details of orders and deliveries for accuracy and validity.

Effective management and execution of preferential procurement principles in terms of Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment.

Examine and review of existing contracts.

Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients.
