A legal qualification

NQF Level 9 Postgraduate qualification in Business Administration/Legal/ Compliance
***:
-
A minimum of 15 years' overall experience, of which 8 years must be in a Senior Management role;
***:

5 years in policy development and 5 years in private health services
***:
-
10 years' experience in Senior Management in medical schemes or comparable environment.
***:
-
Experience in the relevant regulatory environment would be an added advantage.
***:
-
Knowledge of Corporate Governance legislation

and frameworks including the Companies Act and

Knowledge of economic and social aspects relating to the medical schemes
***:

Sound knowledge of the Medical Schemes Act
***:

Sound knowledge of the healthcare financing

industry

Sound knowledge of strategy and policy formulation

SA's healthcare financing and delivery system, product knowledge and pricing;

Knowledge of all related legislation impacting and

influencing the functioning of Fund (MSA, PFMA, BBBEEA, LRA, EEA etc.)

People management, financial and project

Role outputs include the following:***-
Provide strategic advice to the Principal Officer and the Board of Trustees on policy and the private healthcare industry.
***:
-
Lead and coordinating the development of the strategic plan, annual performance plan, business plan, and operational plans of the different Departments to ensure statutory reporting within set deadlines;
***:
-
Lead the development of strategic planning, strategy execution tracking, results monitoring and reporting across the Scheme.
***:
-
Guide and monitoring the development and alignment of departmental business plans with the Scheme scorecard, working with Exco members
***:
-
Manage the Strategy, Policy, and Regulatory Compliance Department.
***:
-
Ensure alignment of strategy and budget allocations on an ongoing basis.
***:
-
Advise the Principal Officer and the Board on innovation, development opportunities and technology enablement.
***:
-
Lead improvements to effectiveness and efficiency of Scheme-wide business operations and compliance, define and drive critical partnerships, delivery planning, operational performance and continuous improvement through policies, processes, and systems.
***:
-
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and across the Scheme
***:
-
Conduct research in the health sector in supporting policy, research, monitoring and achievement of strategic imperatives of the Scheme.
***:
-
Develop, review, and recommend changes to internal policies and implementation procedures for approval by the relevant stakeholders as appropriate on an ongoing basis.
***:
-
Liaise with external stakeholders and to develop strategic relationships to inform the Scheme strategy on an ongoing basis within key deadlines.
***:
-
Build and maintain long term relationships with expert support panels to ensure improved quality of service to meet Scheme objectives on an ongoing basis.
***:
-
Ensuring the active engagement with stakeholders on issues affecting the medical schemes environment.
***:
-
Tie strategic objectives of Scheme to members annual and medium-term budget proposals.
***:
-
Perform any additional responsibilities or tasks according to specifications as and when required.
***:
- **This role fosters data analytics-led decision-making, product design and member excellence by providing direction and oversight for Scheme's research capabilities.
