Description

To actively grow and maintain networks of researchers and consultants who can source and/or deliver contract research and consulting projects.

To support Wits Commercial Enterprise Research & Consulting Business Development Managers by sourcing the relevant expertise, skills and resources, and by building effective multidisciplinary teams where required.

**The core focus of this position will be on establishing and maintaining a network of resources to respond to and deliver on contract research and consulting opportunities that are contracted and managed through Wits Commercial Enterprise.
Activities and Responsibilities

Build and maintain relationships with researchers, consultants and other entities that are interested in partnering to deliver contract research and consulting projects
Managing a database of researchers, consultants and partners that includes expertise, capability, experience and resources
Developing multidisciplinary teams
Coordinating with Business Development teams and researchers/consultants to expedite proposal development
Supporting project implementation processes through effective resourcing at each project phase

Minimum requirements

A tertiary qualification (NQF 8)

At least 5 years working experience in a University research environment
Experience in building and maintaining teams and relational networks

Desirable experience and qualifications

A tertiary qualification (NQF 9/ 10)
5 years working experience in one or more of research / research management / research business development / research funding/ project management/corporate social investment
Member of the Southern African Research and Innovation Management Association (SARIMA)
An additional qualification in Marketing / Business or Business Management
An established network of researchers and consultants

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours)

Knowledge of contract research and consulting in both the commercial and the university environments.
High degree of communication skills with proven ability to create and maintain networks
Ability to build interpersonal relationships across all levels
High degree of computer literacy in MS Office
Ability to work effectively in teams
