Description
Are you looking to make a difference and not
_just _make money?

Our client has been developing and managing low-income social housing in and around the major city centres of South Africa since 2004.

They have built up a portfolio of more than R600 million in assets and turnover in excess of R70 million per annum.

With the original executive team still in place, the time has come for some new blood to take them into the next chapter.

To this end they are appointing a Financial Executive to effectively run their Johannesburg operation, reporting to the CEO who works from their satellite office in Cape Town.

From their inner-city head office they drive property management, new development opportunities, finance, HR, marketing and leasing.

Whilst executives are in place for Property Management and Development, you will wear a number of hats to ensure that the team as a whole communicates effectively, mitigates financial and regulatory risk and is compliant with regard to statutory and deal driven reporting and deadlines.

In the same way that finance is the glue which holds all income, expenses and new initiatives in place, this role is the custodian of financial management, systems development, Company Secretarial, Human Resource & Compliance throughout the "lean and mean" structure.

As such, it would suit someone who has developed their career outside of large corporates where job descriptions are absolute; in this team you may be called upon to assist at the most basic level and must be happy to do so.

However it is also vital you have a minimum of 2 years board engagement which included company secretarial & staff management expertise.

As a minimum you will hold an Honours or Masters Degree in Finance, Business Management or similar fields & have a thorough understanding of all regulatory requirements (GAAP, IFRS).

Experience in EMFA and PFMA, and the ability to raise & maintain state subsidies will secure
