Job purpose:


To lead the on-site supply chain functions that cover Raw Material ordering, Production Planning, Warehousing and Transportation ensuring that all areas meet the expected KPIs and deliver a high level of customer satisfaction.

The incumbent will also lead the commercial activities associated with the supply of auto catalysts.

The incumbent will create a culture, within the supply chain team, of continuous improvement and waste elimination in line with lean manufacturing principles.

The incumbent will also drive the performance through engagement with our internal and external stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery of customer products and with the development of processes and procedures that align with our standards in terms of safety, security, quality, and ethics.


Principal accountabilities:


  • To proactively support the development of a positive health & safety culture across "Company"
  • To develop and implement a Supply Chain strategy that aims to deliver to the "Company" vision to become the plant of choice.
  • To develop, implement and enhance Supply Chain policies, procedures and codes aligned to legislation and sector, group standards.
  • To make "Company" a Great Place to Work by proactively supporting the performance, development and engagement of team members fostering a positive and stimulated working environment.
  • To manage inventory, including scheduling/forecasting, working capital control and avoid obsolescence.
  • The management of production planning service both the needs of the customer and ensure efficient production.
  • To manage the internal/external warehouses and ensure that the transportation and distribution of our products are completed within the required standards of governance and cost control.
  • To ensure regional supply chain and commercial initiatives are communicated and embedded into the local operations and procedures.
  • To develop, implement and enhance Commercial policies, procedures and codes aligned to legislation and sector, group standards.
  • To manage the legislative requirements associated to the APDP and Vendor Declarations.
  • To manage adhoc RFQs from customers.
  • To manage the price reconciliation protocols with the customer base.
  • To manage customer service and facilitate customer engagement on site.
  • To manage reporting expectations from industry bodies such as NAACAM
  • To carry out any other duties which are within the employees skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.

SCOPE

  • Interaction with others is critical to the role working relationships will be required from the front line to the boardroom. Strong communication skills to facilitate interaction with suppliers, customers and personnel from region and group is also essential.
  • The incumbent will be required to foster mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers, customers and global key account teams such that the entire supply chain works in a collaborative way.
  • The incumbent will have financial responsibility departmental budgets, internal / external freight spend and warehousing costs but financial authorities will be governed by the applicable finance protocols.
  • The incumbent will actively participate as a member of the senior management team.


The incumbent will be required to develop / sustain strategies across the supply chain in support of JMSAs working capital targets.

Degree in commerce / supply chain or similar tertiary qualification

A minimum of 10years management experience with a minimum of 3 in a management role within a manufacturing environment.
