Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Support Supervisors and escalate breakdowns to maintenance and or Production Manager as per the escalation procedure
Ensure stock is labelled and barcoded correctly and is comparable to standards before leaving the facility.
Ensure daily production targets are achieved and commentary available for variances
Ensure short interval controls are in place and used to manage production targets
Ensure visual management charts are updated daily and shift Level 1 and Level 2 meetings are conducted and effective.
Support supervisors and crew in achieving production targets
Ensure waste accounted for accurately and commentary is provided for high wastage. Corrective actions to be taken to reduce waste.
Ensure housekeeping is maintained both inside and outside of the facility daily.
Plan and coordinate staff transport on night shift
Ensure staff are allocated as per manning requirements from Production Manager
Manage outsourced Labour to the required manning levels and cost
Conduct routine walkabouts (Gemba walks) to ensure housekeeping and GMP standards are complied with
Communicate issues related to production, quality, staff and maintenance to Production Manager for support.
Ensure on floor Quality control checks are done across all lines and support where necessary
Management of HR and IR related matters (e.g. Leave management, absenteeism management, disciplinaries).
Strictly enforces Health and Safety standards
Support and implement Manufacturing Way initiatives
Assist with the development of production SOPs and ensure the continuous review and improvement of the SOPs in line with the Manufacturing Way practices
Perform general production administrative tasks.
Continuously review production processes and implement improvements as part of The Manufacturing Way social systems and forums
Close off NCRs raised against production during daily checks.
Adhere to all company policies.

Education, Experience and Skills

Production Management Diploma and or Productionrelated degree will be an advantage
GMP & FSSC Knowledge will be an advantage
Knowledge of manufacturing systems and processes (5S, Kaizen, visual management, Root cause analysis, Shopware (advantageous))
Highly computer literate.
Excellent management and interpersonal relationship skills
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent problemsolving skills (Root cause analysis, 5Y)
Detail orientated / able to meet deadlines
Excellent and accurate communication skills
High performance and results driven
Team player. Able to work in a multidisciplinary team
Process control and process management experience
Food manufacturing industry experience necessary
