Description

Purpose:


The Clerk is responsible for routing the correct orders / shipment to the correct third-party contractor in a timeous and efficient manner.

To tend to complaints/issues, reporting damages or losses, processing waybills for branches and customers and generation of manifests.


Responsibilities:


  • Report any damaged cargo or losses immediately to the supervisor.
  • Process orders and waybills for branches and customers efficiently & effectively for all the contracted thirdparty supplier daily.
  • Manifests must be generated evenly during the to eliminate last minute rush which result in delays and unnecessary overtime as per set target.
  • Ensure that all manifest generated daily are returned and checked by using the numbering process.
  • Ensure that all orders are signed for by the inhouse courier on the handover manifest.
  • Manifests and waybills must be filed daily.
  • Check for payment of orders or for credit before shipping with couriers.
  • Communicate to warehouse on branch orders / customer orders requests and ensuring that their orders placed are processed.
  • Assist manager & supervisors with general admin where needed and requested.
  • Ensure that the orders are ready for the couriers when collecting.
  • Manage ready orders for shipping daily to ensure set target of orders are shipped.
  • Obtain identification (SA Passport, SA ID Card, SA Green Book or SA Driver's license only) from couriers collecting.
  • Job rotation will be required interdepartment as well as between departments in operations for the period agreed.
  • Respond effectively and efficiently in a timeous manner to all related queries via Telephone and Email.
  • Customer couriers are not to be released if address is not specified. If uncertain please consult your superior.

Qualification and Experience:


  • Matric
  • Valid Driver's license
  • 1 year administrative experience at a similar level

Skills and Knowledge:


  • Basic knowledge of general administrative processes
  • Good knowledge of facility layout
  • Good knowledge of routes, related business places and locality
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good people skills
  • Good driving skills
