The Role

Lead and direct the development and implementation of the Technology innovation products which will contribute to overall company revenue generation.

Lead Pingo as a new generation logistics services group that provides intelligent, innovative and unique technology offerings to clients in niche industry bands.

Successful incumbent must be focused on system development and have a hands-on approach.


Skills and Experience Minimum Qualification**:

4 year qualification in IT/ BSC Comp. Sciences/ Information Systems./ B.Com)

MBA/MBL


Minimum related work experience:


  • 10+ years experience in the Information Technologyfocusing in systems development
  • Minimum 58 years of at senior/executive management level
  • Has excellent knowledge of the Supply Chain Industry.
Understand the dynamics of Home delivery, B2C trends

  • Must have proven record in the development of unique and innovative products to the market that has contributed to the company bottom line
  • Solid People Management and show above average Leadership Skills
  • Has a sound financial acumen to prepare budgets, forecasting and interpret/report on Profit and Loss (P&L) statements
  • The ability to interpret and design technology products that clients will adopt and will ultimately become the Industry norm
  • Understands Marketing dynamics to create and sustain demand for products launched
  • Excellent communicator
  • Has an excellent understanding on Technology trends and how this can be used to further innovate new product solutions to the benefit of the company

Key Accountabilities Lead and Direct the strategic direction of unique Customer Centric products**- Clarify Pingo's goals and the strategic role of new product development for competitive advantage

  • Analyse acceptance of new products
  • Prepare Pingo for the change needed to develop new products on a regular basis
  • Estimate the new product market opportunity
  • Have an intimate understanding on Technology trends and how this can be used to further innovate new product solutions to the benefit of the company
  • Further identify and enhance existing technology product offerings to clients to ensure offerings remain a competitive advantage to Pingo
  • Establish a financial forecasting capability that provides a new product control chart
  • Launch and track new product programs to implement needed modifications for success
  • Understands Marketing dynamics to create and sustain demand for products launched
  • Regular interaction with external clients to understand and react on customer focused solutions but can be extended as product offerings
  • Will be required to assist in the development and design of systems solutionson multiple software and hardware platforms (Where required) as part of product extension and enhancements of existing offerings
  • Will report on a regular basis financial results of departmental P&L, prepare and monitor budgets

Lead and Direct ICT Strategy

  • Ensure that the ICT strategy is aligned with business.
  • Oversee ICT initiatives and action planning for continuous effective service delivery to meet the strategic priorities of Pingo
  • Assist in establishing solutions for complex IT business problems
  • Oversee the implementation of a roadmap compiled in accordance with the required format indicating the following elements:
  • Technology plans and provision of solutions
  • Technological Architecture (design and develop/ standards and systems)
  • Data and Information management services
  • Business intelligence and core ICT investments
  • Financial, HR, labour & other resources and ICT infrastructure requirements for operational efficiency
  • Corporate Governance
  • Vendor Management
  • Training and Leadership Development Manage the infrastructure outsource partner delivery and relationship

Other Strategic Human Resource Management**- Lead and manage senior managers in the achievement of planned divisionalobjectives and targets by ensuring that Pingo has a high performance culture

  • Ensure that senior manager's roles and responsibilities are clarified, performance objectives are set and managed and conduct performance reviews in accordance with policies and procedures and take corrective actions where necessary
  • Ensure that a senior management succession plan is implemented
  • Build a proactive environment where the senior managers can take responsibility for results;
  • Ensure that Employment Equity targets are set and achieved as per company objectives
  • Ensure identification and upskilling of criticalskills essential for sustainability of service delivery and the development of succession plans; and give feedback to relevant stakeholders

Manage IT Budget

  • Prepare and manage the operational and capital budgets
  • Approve budgetary expenditures within authorisation limits or delegations
  • Review and report on financial performance

Lead and Direct the Design and Execution of Strategic Projects

  • Develop the project strategy and business case
