Description

The purpose of this position is to implement, maintain and support cybersecurity tools, technologies and solutions.
Detailed Description
Develop and maintain information technology (IT) security standards and procedures to ensure IT security governance.
Identify and categorise new IT security threats, vulnerabilities and risks to ensure that the South African Reserve Bank's (SARB) threat landscape is reduced.
Proactively and timeously assess the vulnerability of infrastructure to threats, diagnose problems and customise solutions to address problems, where necessary.
Administer and maintain IT security systems and solutions to ensure the health, availability and reliability thereof.
Provide meaningful IT security metrics and reporting to inform decisions based on accurate uptodate measurements of IT threat and risks.
Participate in IT security projects aimed at improving IT security in the SARB.
Perform work independently in order to deliver work that meets time and quality standards, and customer expectations.
Troubleshoot identified IT security incidents (second and thirdlevel support) and problems on the relevant platforms, together with other technical teams ( i.e. desktop, servers, networks and storage).
Participate during the planned and unplanned IT systems recovery process through recovering the IT security solutions.
Participate in IT security audits through the provision of relevant information.
Stay current with IT security knowledge and skills in order to maintain professional expertise and relevant accreditation.
Job Requirements

a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (NQF 7) or an equivalent qualification;
- internationally recognised security original equipment manufacturer (OEM) product-specific certifications ( e.g. Microsoft, Symantec, Sophos and MacAfee)
- certification as a Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), Certified Ethical Hacking (CEH) or Certified Information Security Professional (CISSP); and

8‒10 years' IT experience, of which a minimum of three years must be in IT security.
