Requirements:

The role will involve the development of the new service line and client offering by:

  • marketing the service line in conjunction with marketing services
- growing the service line through active business development initiatives
- acquiring new clients/ selling services to existing clients
- managing client and stakeholder relationships
- developing the team (existing and new recruits) to deliver on engagements/ projects
- working with the team on delivering client engagements/ projects. The incumbent will be responsible for managing a number of engagements that will run concurrently
- managing the service line to ensure growth objectives are obtained

  • Developing and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with partners, directors and employees across offices nationally and internationally.
In addition, typical tasks expected of our consultants include:

  • Project management including managing project budgets, deadlines, productivity, billings, liaising with clients, project supervision of researchers, analysts and other consultants, development of project work plans, etc.
  • Managing project components effectively by completing them on time, at the required standard and to the clients satisfaction
  • Conducting qualitative and quantitative research interviewing, field work, design and implementation of questionnaires, spreadsheets etc.
  • Detailed analysis of data market demand, economic impact, financial, development of project specific analytical models, etc.
  • Developing and write reports, or parts thereof, to a high standard and in accordance with client needs
  • Developing appropriate and suitable strategies as part of projects as applicable and to suit client needs
  • Facilitation of workshops
  • Developing and conducting presentations
  • Drafting and presenting proposals
  • Identifying marketing and sales opportunities through:
  • conference papers and presentations
- media interviews
- networking functions
- awareness of possible new projects
- targeted business development, etc.

  • Negotiating and close sales and onsell services
  • Developing and maintenance of positive relationships with clients
  • Mentoring, training and supporting other team members
  • Engaging in relevant marketing activities
  • Attending and networking at conferences, functions etc.
  • Admin duties as required

Skills and Experience

  • Honours or Masters degree (MBA, financial, economics, technology, development studies, strategy an advantage)
  • Excellent working knowledge of various digital technologies and how these can be applied to improve organisational effectiveness and efficiencies.
  • Understanding of, and preferably experience in, the following:
  • Digital Strategy: addressing the issues, decisions, actions and investments required in IT to create a digital business
  • IT

Value Strategy:
shaping the direction of IT to align the overall shareholder and business vision and objectives and drive measurable improvements

  • Technology Innovation and Ecosystems: exploring new and emerging technologies to create a vision of how technology will shape the future and invent the next wave of cuttingedge business solutions
  • Operating Model: shaping how the IT function will need to operate to achieve the New IT and stakeholder objectives and workforce talent strategy
  • Accounting and financial knowledge able to read, understand and make recommendations based on financial information. Experience in financial modelling an advantage
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in management consulting or business advisory
  • Ability to engage at all levels, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong thinking skills strategic, bottomline, analytical, big picture, creative, realistic, possibility, shared, unpopular, focused
  • Good economic knowledge and keen awareness of the macroeconomic climate in South Africa
  • Good project management skills
  • Good manager of people and interested in developing others
  • Able to liaise with highlevel clients and to interview and extract meaningful information
  • Networking skills, able to develop lasting relationships with people
  • Willing to become an expert in the field/s in which they consult
