Meridian Wine Merchant is currently seeking a passionate and results-driven individual to join their team as a
National On Consumption Trade Marketer, The position is open
Nationally.

Job Purpose:


The National On Consumption Trade Marketer is responsible for all trade marketing solutions in the On Consumption channel in line with brand and portfolio trade marketing strategy.


Responsibilities:


  • Conceptualise and coordinate annual and quarterly on consumption promotional plans and calendar in support of company, portfolio and supplier strategy.
  • Support the development of brand and varietal strategies by identifying new and existing trade opportunities.
  • Support the development of brand plans and agreed Meridian activity plan by farm based on brand and portfolio objectives.
  • Develop, manage and track execution standards of identified brand sales levers for the on consumption channel.
  • Work with regional sales operations teams to develop DVA trade activities to support sales strategy and objectives for each brand at regional, segment, channel and investment level.
  • Regular trade calls and joint calls with RSMs or KAMs for market intelligence as well as negotiation, development and roll out strategies for activities.
  • Source, develop and facilitate the purchase and timeous delivery of point of sale material to support Trade Marketing strategies, plans and objectives.
  • Develop and constantly review the On Consumption Trade Marketing Strategy in line with the company and client needs.
  • Develop and deliver complete promotional campaigns, activities and sales tools for portfolio and brand products and services.
  • Devise and facilitate the continuous collection of customer and consumer data.
  • Evaluate and select vendors and suppliers for promotional materials and services to required standards.
  • Devise, maintain and develop tactics to strengthen The Wine List War Plan system of support to the sales team in achieving brand, portfolio and company listing objectives.
  • Support sales capability by developing brand trade marketing negotiation packs for the sales force.
  • Act as a conduit of information flow between clients and Meridian for on consumption brand and portfolio activity as well as quarterly feedback to clients on activity completed.
  • Communicate regularly with Sales teams to ensure that implementation plans are on track.

Requirements:


  • IMM Diploma and/or Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing.
  • Wine Certificate or Diploma (beneficial)
  • Minimum 2 years trade and/or marketing experience and track record in sales and/or marketing at national level.
  • Experience in strategic and commercial planning.
  • Liquor License Legislation (beneficial)
  • Consumer Protection Act (beneficial)
  • On consumption specific experience
