I'm currently appointed as the Group SHER Manager within the Hydra-Arc Group of Companies.

I'm a highly skilled safety professional with more than 8 years of experience within the SHE disciplines, with extensive knowledge and experience in implementing and maintaining ISO and NOSA systems.
I’m a certified member with the South African Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (Saiosh) and have submitted my application for registration as Construction Health and Safety 
Manager with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP).
I provide assurance that SHE risks are managed adequately, i.e. reviewing risk profiles, defining legal and other requirements, updating legal registers, establishment of internal audit 
teams, internal audits as per ISO 19011, 3rd party audits (NOSA, ISO 9001 & 45001), KPI’s established per division to ensure ownership from both SHE and OPS, acting on leading indicators, implementation of critical controls, implementation & testing of learnings & adopting the PDCA cycle.
I display strong interpersonal skills through the ability to gain the trust and respect of others, being sensitive to people’s needs and feelings, and enjoying the building and bounding of teams. I listen very effectively, and can write in a concise manner, and speak in a persuasive style.
I inspire and motivate others when leading and managing, giving at all times clear and concise directions with the added ability to think in a strategic manner. I work effectively under pressure 
and where both, demanding and stringent deadlines are present, I prioritise to ensure that the needs of both the client and business are fulfilled.
I think in a strategic manner and see the bigger picture at all times, which contributes to the establishing of achievable objectives. I do readily accept change and adapt quickly by recognising the benefits and promotes change to others in a positive manner.
I am a team player and can effectively manage teams. I have approximately 42 employees reporting to me in my current role and I’m responsible for the overall SHER within the Group of Companies (Hydra-Arc, Sky Hill, Hillside, Ark Lodge, Moonstone, Weld-Mech and Jomele). 

Bachelor of Commerce in industrial psychology and labour relations.

Currently busy with my NEBOSH International diploma in occupational health and safety management.
