Vyvienne Blackie

I have been a Foundation Phase Teacher for the past 32 years. In March 2023, I will reach retirement age but feel that I still have much to contribute as an educator and that I am not ready to retire yet.

I work well with my colleagues; I have mentored young teachers with whom I share mutual values, attitudes and approaches to the task at hand. I find my work rewarding and the learners bring me a lot of joy. My interaction with all stakeholders has been a positive experience and I have earned the trust and respect of the parents and am appreciated by them. 

I am punctual, prepared and always enthusiastic to learn. I am energetic, driven and passionate about my work and I believe that education should be fun and enjoyable. I am dedicated and committed to educating our children for the future. I am devoted to the school and always willing to assist in whichever way I possibly can.

My professional duties include but are not limited to lesson planning, quality teaching and learning, assessment, administration and extracurricular activities. 

I am in good health and I am very active, attending pilates classes four times a week.

I passed Matric in 1975 at Northcliff High School. I went on to do a Diploma in Education at JCE.
