Thapelo Malesa holds a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Veterinary Technology (NQF Level 8) with majors in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Virology, Bacteriology, and Immunology. 

In the private sector, Thapelo worked at Chemetrix, gaining expertise in servicing and maintaining analytical instruments like AAS, ICP-MS/OES, HPLC, UV-VIS, GC, GCMS, and more. He has 6 months of experience in technical customer support and troubleshooting microplate washers and readers, and has recently interviewed for a Product Specialist role in Cell Analysis and Microplate Automation.

He has also completed Work-Integrated Learning at MSD Malalane Veterinary Research Unit and gained practical experience in wildlife and biobank sample management at Ukutula Conservation Centre.
