My name is Tania Mathys, a pharmacist with 23 years experience in various sectors of pharmacy.

I bring a unique blend of expertise, leadership, and proven accomplishments.

As a seasoned pharmacist, I have successfully managed the Western Cape Government Health - Chronic Dispensing Unit for 9 years, pioneering the first centralized public health pharmacy for chronic medicines in the developing world - using automated dispensing to accurately and timeously dispense 600 000 medicine parcels per month to 300 facilities in the province. My ability to roll out services like the CDU, from a localised delivery system to a province wide scale, attests to my strategic vision and operational effectiveness.

The CDU was the first centralised automated dispenser in South Africa and the national model of the CCMDD was based on the Western Cape Model. I have consulted with National Department of Health on Automated Dispensing, and have presented at Conferences and workshops on the benefits, implementation and execution of alternative methods of dispensing and improving access to medicines.

Furthermore, my experience in pharmaceutical policy development and implementation, project management, and warehouse logistics position me as a comprehensive candidate for your team.

I am not only an adept professional but also an accomplished team leader, evidenced by my role in facilitating CDU training at 180 public health facilities.  My commitment to excellence is further demonstrated by being a finalist in the 2015 Public Sector Innovation Awards and contributing to publications in reputable journals.
