EMIS is a function and unit in the DBE with the responsibility to develop and maintain an integrated education information system for management of education. The integrated infomation system is accomplished through acquisition, processing, dissemination and reporting of quality education data.
Duties:
• Provide end-user application support via phone, email and remote access utilities (Team Viewer, AnyDesk etc.) as well as off site;
• Troubleshoot issues reported by clients, fixing of corrupted databases and provide solutions as well as providing user support on implementation at schools;
• Render support in implementation of SA-SAMS
• Distribution of SA-SAMS related tools i.e. surveys, patches
• Maintenance of SA-SAMS
• Ensuring databases are up to date
• Provide support in training and collection of SA-SAMS databases
• Assist ITOs when conducting SA-SAMS training and collecting databases
• Implement the provision of the Education Information Policy
• Participate in data collection activities
