Sihlengiwe Zwane

I am an enthusiastic and proficient Occupational Therapist who has 2 years and 10 months experience of working in rural government facilities. Specialising in adult neuro, paediatric conditions, upper limb orthopaedics, persons with disabilities group therapy and wheelchair refurbishing. I have a special interest and passion in Occupational Therapy in the 4th industrial revolution and vocational rehabilitation. I am always looking for opportunities to learn, grow, build my skills/knowledge base and become an equally relevant and compassionate Occupational Therapist.

I worked as a community service Occupational Therapist for 1 year in 2020 at Shongwe Hospital in Schoemansda, Mpumalanga where I: 

• Provided treatment of upper limb orthopaedic conditions, paediatric conditions and neurological conditions for in and out patients.  
• Involved in the establishment of a wheelchair workshop where wheelchairs were repaired and refurbished using new wheelchair parts.

I am currently working as a permanent Occupational Therapist at Matikwana Hospital in Mkhuhlu, Mpumalanga since 2021 (1 year 10 months) where I am: 

• Providing treatment of upper limb orthopaedic conditions, paediatric conditions and neurological conditions for in and out patient.
• Planning and Facilitating Cerebral Palsy, Stroke and Arthritis groups.
• Demonstrating continuity of care by executing home-based care visits, community outreaches and clinic visits. 
• Responsible for ordering, organizing and controlling stock/resources in the Occupational Therapy depart

I hold a Bachelor of Sciences in Occupational Therapy Professional Degree NQF level 8 from the University of Western Cape in 2019
