Clinical & Community Nutrition Management
▪ Evaluating and assessing nutritional status of patients, and screens patients for nutritional
risk in accordance with established department protocols and standards.
▪ Plans and initiates nutritional therapy to patients if indicated by patient requirements.
Involved in administrative duties of the department.
▪ Educates and counsels in-patients and out-patients on nutritional issues, either individually or
in groups in the hospital and community.
▪ Support workplace wellness activities with nutrition education to promote health and prevent
nutrition related diseases.
▪ Conduct support visits to PHC feeder clinics, to monitor implementation of the Integrated
Nutrition Programme. Each PHC clinic in the catchment area of the hospital was visited at
least once a month.

Therapeutic Foodservice Management
▪ Compile and/or review therapeutic menus in collaboration with the Foodservice Manager.
▪ Analyze meal plan for normal and therapeutic diets in accordance with RDA/ RDIs and FBDG.
Ensure that the therapeutic menus comply with quality standards (including all aspects of
production and portioning).
▪ Implement control measures to stay within the allocated therapeutic budget.
▪ Ensuring the nutritional adequacy of meals served to the patients or customers.
▪ Train Foodservice staff on therapeutic diets and menu analysis including portioning.
▪ Conduct random quality checks on therapeutic diets (preparation and dishing up).
▪ Training of food service staff.
▪ Management of health and safety Audits and Hygiene control.
▪ Ensures that foods are served in conformity with individual dietary prescriptions
Participate in scheduled catering committee meetings.
