I am a versatile creative with proven organizational skills and extensive knowledge
in corporate entertainment and Television.
I have a BA in Motion Picture Medium and my core experience is within the
entertainment industry raging between administration, project & production
coordination and marketing & sales communications.
Apart from having strong PowerPoint, analytical & strategic planning skills, I am an
effective communicator with a strategic planning approach to doing business.

Experience

Through my fascination for storytelling, I enrolled at The South African School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance (AFDA) and discovered my love for Television. With finances still being an obstacle, I applied for scholarships and earnestly received funding from The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) for both my first and second year. Throughout studying, I continued attending and working in workshops and festivals in Durban, such as The Durban International Film Festival (DIFF), NEWF, KAFF and Television Roundtable Discussions. Whilst studying, I upskilled in production work and learned about the vastly diverse industry of being ‘Behind the Scenes’. This introduced me to developing set teamwork skills and harnessing a new sense of determination that I discovered about myself within the journey. Exceeding both academically and professionally, I won Best Director at AFDA, Durban and directed in productions such as The 2017 KZN Music Imbizo.
In my final year of study, I acquired another bursary with MNET (whilst having the financial and career support of NFVF) and I now hold a BA in Motion Picture Medium degree. Having had the privilege and honour to be mentored by industry professionals, I interned and volunteered in some of South Africa’s biggest Television productions such as Uzalo and Isibaya. I explored different set roles such as production coordinator & assistant, assistant director and delved into floor managing skills all throughout acquiring my BA. This assisted me in implementing the knowledge into my student productions that were screened in Ster Kinekor and won TV Audience.
After graduation, I received an opportunity to work at the Gauteng Film Commission as an intern in the ISD (Industry Support & Development) unit. Within the same year, I acquired an internship with TRACE SA in Marketing & Communications. This unlocked my ability to coordinate and manage events, workshops, festivals and manage set productions. Due to the global pandemic and having experienced my first retrenchment, I was inspired to continue implementing the lessons, ideas and knowledge through currently registering my production company, writing an anthology and venturing into entrepreneurship. Since then, I have received an internship opportunity at Impucuzeko as a Production Assistant of which I had to terminate as I am currently on a short-term contract with Uzalo as Production Coordinator and in training for the role of Schedular.
