I am a seasoned Payroll Manager with over 35 years of experience in payroll operations, compliance, and financial management. I manage payroll for approximately 4,500 employees and have extensive expertise across multiple platforms including VIP Premier, VIP ESS, Evolution Accounting, and First National Bank integrations.

My core responsibilities include:

• Payroll Processing & Reporting: Annual increment and bonus calculations, payroll reconciliations, variance analysis, and preparation of detailed payroll reports.
• Systems & Financial Integration: Extraction and uploading of salary journals, reconciliation of salary-related financials, and journal entries into accounting systems.
• Statutory Compliance: Timely payment and reconciliation of statutory contributions (UIF, Provident Fund, Group Life, Medical Aid), submission of UIF declarations, COIDA returns, and Workmen’s Compensation claims.
• Tax Year-End & Legislative Reporting: EasyFile IRP5 submissions, WSP and EE reports, STATS SA quarterly submissions, and BBBEE statistics collation.
• Employee Support & Advisory: Assisting staff with salary queries, advising managers on payroll matters, and liaising with benefit consultants.
• Leave & Allowance Management: Monitoring staff leave and managing various allowances including overtime, standby, travel reimbursements, and commissions.
• System Maintenance & Month-End Procedures: Monthly payroll clean-up, rollover, updates, and payslip releases via ESS and VIP systems.
