Sasha-Leigh Hodgen

Whilst studying, I worked in many service-based jobs including bar tending at events, hostessing at lounges in Cape Town and more. These jobs require hard work and long hours, but it taught me to become a more sociable individual and extend my network.

Once I completed my Bachelor of Art in Fashion Design at FEDISA, I went on to do a yachting qualification which included: firefighting, medical services, silver service, bar tending, basic wine knowledge and floral arrangements. I completed day work at the Victoria and Albert harbour in Cape Town, on a 23-metre yacht And then went on to work on a 52m in Italy. 

In September 2021, I left South Africa to further my studies at Polimoda in Florence Italy.  Polimoda is a private fashion school, ranked in the world top 10 best fashion schools by the Business of Fashion & Fashionista. I completed the 1 year of a  Fashion Styling course.  Subjects included Fashion styling, photography, fashion iconography, journalism, cinematography, and film techniques.  During this time, I realised my passion for photography, event co-ordination and communication-based work and styling , I would like to pursue opportunities in these industries.
