Sarah-May Theodosiou

I am writing to express my keen interest in the content creator vacancy. With just over six years of practical teaching experience, including teaching Foundation Phase in Thailand and Intermediate Phase at various schools in South Africa, I have developed a deep understanding of the educational landscape, and a passion for creating engaging and effective learning resources.

Throughout my teaching career, I have dedicated myself to crafting my own teaching materials and resources.  This hands-on experience has allowed me to understand the specific needs and learning styles of students in different age groups. I firmly believe that well-designed and creative educational content can greatly enhance the learning experience and foster a love for learning among students. 

In addition to my teaching experience, I am currently working on compiling an English study guide for grade 5 students. This project has further honed my skills in creating comprehensive and user-friendly educational materials. I am well-versed in various teaching methodologies and curriculum standards, ensuing that the content I develop aligns with educational goals, often having to meet stringent deadlines, and address the specific needs of students. 

Furthermore, I am highly proficient in computer literacy, allowing me to navigate various software and online platforms with ease. This proficiency enables me to leverage technology effectively in creating interactive and multimedia-rich learning resources. I am always eager to explore new tools and technologies that can enhance the educational experience. I am currently completing the Google for Education-Fundamental training course focusing on education supported by technology. During my recent maternity break  I continued to invest in my professional growth and development by completing various online courses such as digital marketing and an introduction to Adobe platform such as Illustrator and InDesign.

I am excited about the opportunity to join a creative organization and contribute to the creation of high-quality educational content. My passion for teaching, coupled with my experience and dedication, make me confident in my ability to excel in this role whether independently or collaboratively.  

I have over six years of teaching experience, in South Africa and abroad. I have been exposed to a diverse classroom environment and the challenges which South African students face on a daily basis. I am computer literate and have a passion for content creation. In each job I have created my own original content aligning with educational goals, often having to meet stringent deadlines, and address the specific needs of students, staff and parents. 

I have experienced managerial role at a private game lodge and assisted at an art gallery whilst studying. I am currently compiling a studyguide for primary students. 

I am passionate about education and creating resources and content which is tailor made for my students. I am aware of the current educational crisis which South Africans face. With my experience and knoweldge in education being facilitated by technology, I am confident in my ability to contribute to a positive change in education.
