Ruaan Pottas

I've gained experience in different accounting disciplines since 2007 working as an Accountant for three years at a construction firm, a Professional Registered Accountant at an Accounting Practice, where I managed a team of five reporting to me for close to three years and a Deputy Accountant in the Personnel Budgeting Department of Finance for the University of Pretoria since 2013. Prior to that I worked for a finance house in Johannesburg from 2004 as a Finance Consultant. I completed my B Comm Financial Accounting degree in 2004, my B Comm Management Accounting honours degree in 2011, and was registered as a Professional Accountant in 2011 as well. I'm currently busy studying CIMA - Strategic Level.

I love to think outside the box and will always try and streamline business processes to let the financial system work for me. I've gained extensive accounting experience from different systems such as Pastel Partner, Oracle Peoplesoft and Microsoft Office; managed a team of five staff members reporting to me. My current employer employs about 6000, very diverse and multicultural staff members over six satellite campuses. I'm a very diligent, attention to detail person, who loves challenges, works well under pressure, works well in a team environment as well as performs individually as a self-starter. I would love to contribute towards the success of the organisation by achieving the short term & long term goals set by management.

I would love to be part of an organisation with a brilliant reputation and assist in achieving success by meeting the short term goals and long term objectives set by management. I would love to grow in the organisation and learn as much as possible where I can.
