Rona Steffens

I have over 15 years’ experience in the social services field, focusing on system strengthening and community development aligned to HIV/AIDS programming.  Key to my experience is to manage large donor funded programs, such as USAID/PEPFAR, JSI and FHI360. I am “hands on” and belief in building communities utilizing existing strengths, as I believe that the solutions are within the various communities we serve. 

• Overall strategic and managerial leadership  in collaboration with major stakeholders.
• Supporting the development of the organization’s overall strategy, design, and implementation of programs.
• Contribution to business development, proposal development and resource mobilization initiatives.
• Direction and input into developing the budget requirements for the donor programs including monitoring functions. 
• Management of all stakeholder relationships including the donor, government departments, sub-recipients and other collaborating partners to support successful program implementation including drafting of MOUs
• Principal liaison to donors
• Leading of high quality and results oriented activities to achieve the objectives and desired results of the program.
• Program monitoring, evaluation and reporting 
• Sub-partner management and contracting including the implementation and performance management of the agreements.   
• Overall leadership and direction for HIVSA programs.
• Manage and supervise staff ensuring they have the required support, resources, and guidance to carry out their duties.
