About Raksha Maganbeharie :

I am Raksha Maganbeharie. Ready to turn 49 in January 2023. I am mum to an amazing 14 year, Aditi Hindi, who challenges my brain on a daily basis hence allowing me to be an energetic, positive thinker; and goal getter.

I currently work in an independent brokerage where I am an all rounder. I attend to administrative duties. I take care of our client portfolios whilst finding new business. I maintain the company client base of body corporates with a property portfolio in excess of R100 billion. Claims from start to finish to a key service delivery factor which I further attend to. My personal client base which was built slowly due to other major projects, consists of some 40, well taken care of clients.

My financial planning experience started with Old Mutual PFA in 2011 as a financial planner. 


I returned to legal as an Industrial Relations PA with Redfern & Findlay Attorneys, with whom I worked with previously. 

When approached to join Old Mutual PFA as a Business Development PA, I immediately accepted wanting to gain the experience. I assisted the team in maintaining its' number one position until I was approached by the brokerage New Moon Financial Services to join thwir newly acquired office.

I am a mature, hard working, focused, hungry for success individual. I work effectively and positively in a team and find myself being a good team player. I equally enjoy working independently when specialized tasks are involved. Attention to detail and work of a high standard is key to me, hence I strive to ensure that I give off my absolute best at all times.

Having worked and trained under local, national and internationally recognized companies and individuals, I have gained a high standard of work ethic, understanding commitment and ethical values in the workplace. The financial industry with its' strict regulations enhances my values and principles immensely. I am a self starter and live with the strong belief that nothing is impossible or too difficult for me. Having that positivity allows me to progress in any given task.

I want to join a company where my skills and intelligence is noticed, appreciated and valued.  An asset to the company is a given.

Experience

  1. Currently a financial planner/client liaison/admin/consultant/claims administrator/first point of contact to the brokerage.
  2. Business Development PA - Old Mutual PFA - advertising post, screening applicants, setting up interviews, attending interviews, drafting contracts, telephonic interviews. Keeping track of all new business and commission per advisor. Ensuring weekly and monthly targets were met. Training, supporting and motivating advisors. Administrative duties. Attend management meetings. Attend disciplinary hearings as a scribe. Drafting all documents and reports required by the Area and Regional Managers.
  3. Industrial/Labour Relations PA - Draft and prepare legal documents and letters. Input attorney’s fees. Compile statements of accounts at the month end. Recover unpaid accounts. Maintain healthy relationships with clients. Attend to travel arrangements and accommodation bookings.  Assist within the practice as and when needed.
  4. Financial Planner - Old Mutual PFA - Keep up With continuous professional development assessments and exams. Build a client base. Cold calling potential clients. Administration of client base. 
  5. Full-time mom - 3 years at home raising my little girl taught me some of my greatest life lessons which further assisted me in the work place. Patience, tolerance, positive attitude. Undertaking the roles of plumber, electrician, chef, domestic, doctor, disciplinarian, chauffeur, and so much more.
  6. PA to Director - Labour Relations - Tomlinson, Mnguni James Attorneys.
  7. PA - Dept. of Health - Employee Assistance Programme and Wellness with a Pyschologist.
  8. PA to Director - Natal Museum - Overlook all departments ensuring goals met. Arrange, prepare and compile documents for board meetings. Public Relations duties. Fundraiser. Compiled and submitted requests for funding from the DACST. Received R2m and a visit to the museum by the Minister of DACST and DG.
  9. Working holiday in United Kingdom. Worked as an administrator full time whilst working as a carer and chef part-time.
  10. Financial Clerk/Debtors/Legal - City Treasurer’s Office.
