Rahul Rajcoomar

I am an enthusiastic learner always trying to balance out my experience with both a practical and theoretical foundation. Trained as a Chartered Accountant by Deloitte specialising in financial services,  thereafter branching out to technology sales, solution implementation, financial reporting and change management. I have gathered a well rounded set of experience that positions me well to drive financial and technology change from a strategic perspective. I am currently completing my MBA, which further assists in broadening my application across an organisation. 

I worked the major part of my career in financial services including banking, insurance, stockbroking and hedge funds. The former part of my career focused on auditing with my post-articles predominantly related to the implementation of a globally adopted insurance standard (IFRS 17). This was an organisational-wide project that impacted all areas including data, infrastructure, management reporting , change management and although sometimes not as highly valued, compliance. I managed the implementation and was involved at an extremely granular level, it has given me a great basis to understand the change impact of a project that needs to both meet requirements and drive strategic growth.

I completed my Chartered Accountancy qualification in 2017 along with my masters in commerce. These both endowed me with vastly opposing knowledge from both practically and theoretically. It served as a great basis for the 4 year long implementation and I have continued this knowledge growth , currently completing my MBA. The MBA has provided me with a far bigger picture view than my technical financial knowledge has given me thus far.
