About Rachel Teffu:
Rachel Teffu is an Aspiring Chief Safety Officer with SACPCMP and Saiosh membership holdingher B-Tech and National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management, SAMTRAC, Combined ISO 14001 and 18001and Implementation, Internal Auditing and Basic Firefighting and First-Aid Certificate. Rachel further have more than TWELVE (12) years’ Safety Management and Operation experience working in the Steel Manufacturing, Petrochemical, Renewable Energy industry and Water Purification industry as SHEQ officer, SHE Representative, SHEQ Graduate and a Steel Operator. Rachel always believes that her hands-on experience coupled with the growing knowledge she gained during her studies and during fieldwork prepared her to can make a solid contribution in any Health and Safety Management related field. With a solid foundation in Health and Safety Management, Rachel is always prepared to put her knowledge and abilities to deliver the best results in everything that she does, while gaining immeasurable experience and skills to advance in her career pursuit. Rachel is a self-motivated, goal orientated, driven and an individual who believes in lifting and empowering others through the knowledge she has acquired, and experiences gained overtime.
Experience
- Conducting health and safety inductions for visitors, Stakeholders and service providers
- Working hand in hand with security team by ensuring Biometric access system is effective, enrollments, backing up the system at all times.
- Facilitate, prepare and maintain SHEQ file requirements i.e. relevant , licenses, permits ,agreements, procedures, signed appointments ,competencies
- Engage with subsidiaries, gather SHEQ feedback report and compile it to be represented to our board members and stake holders
- Maintain communication of SHEQ system throughout the organization to ensure employee participation
- To ensure compliance to relevant standards ,laws ,regulations are agree per job specifications
- Assist and support management in closing the identified gaps of the of the company SHEQ system through, implementation, continuous improvement and monitoring
- Take part in incident investigation
- Ensure regular inspections are done and audits are conducted
Education
- Assisting the Scientific services(laboratories & plants) to comply with compliance through updated procedures, ISO standards, policies, disposal and handling of waste.
- Doing the monthly Inspections and updating of stats boards and performing internaland external audits.
- Recordingof incidentson systems(Maximo & RUBI) and performing incident investigations,
- Auditing the service provider’s, SHE files before project commences and preparing monthly SHE talks, reviewingof TRA, policies, procedures, compiling hazardouschemical checklist, Compilingcontractor’s SHE induction, receiving andsigning offs of waste invoices.
- Evaluating andinspections of documentation and assisting during SHEQ MANAGEMENT reviews by advising, responsible for the back-up security systems including cameras.
- Screening of employees, contractors and visitors for COVID-19 and ensuring and assisting with the COVID-19 compliance systems (COVID-19 Entry system) through data and Stats capturing.
