I am an empathetic and companionate carer with a background and experience of working with the elderly population as well as disabled patients in their homes. I can provide exceptional care, work well under pressure still ensuring patients get the best care. I can adjust to change, and my experience working in the retail industry has taught me how to manage human behaviour. I am a good communicator, self-motivated and a good team player, and I can meet deadlines whilst making sound decision. I have good computer skills and excellent people skills. Experience
Care support worker – Home Based Care: 10/02/2021 to present
I am employed by a private family as a care assistance to their disabled adult son. My responsibilities are:
● Assisting with personal care. This includes getting him ready for the day centre in the mornings and settling him in back at home in the afternoon.
● Assisting with mobility. The client can mobilise with assistance of one for short distances such as going to the toilet but is mainly wheelchair bound.
● Ensuring that his laundry is done and keeping his bedroom clean and tidy.
● Ensuring that medication is taken on time, and liaising with the GP to ensure that medication is delivered in a timely manner
● Accompanying them to the doctor’s appointment as well as to physiotherapy.
● Housekeeping and running errands.
● Keeping them company, ensuring that they are able to do their hobbies and travelling with them for short holidays.
● I maintain an open and honest culture, report in an open manner if things have not gone as expected.

During lockdown I was living with a blind relative with diabetes as their carer. My responsibilities included:
● Administering medication
● Preparation of snacks made according to the client’s needs.
● Personal care such as washing, dressing, nail and mouth care, as well as eating and drinking
● Escorted patient to activities as well as to medical check-ups and foot care.
Retail Assistance – 2012-2018
Worked with different retail companies as a retail and marketing assistance. My role included providing customer service to customers, and catering to their needs.
