Phinah Maseribane

I'm a dedicated and hardworking person who is always willing to improve working environment. I always regard myself as an Information Specialist as I'm always eager to share my knowledge and relevant information needed. I studied Library and Information Science at University of Limpopo and I also applied it practically at various Departments such as University of Limpopo and Polokwane public Library. I developed many skills such as reading and writing skills, leadership skills, Computer skills and good Communication skills as I as I was working at different Departments. I believe that I will always be able to co- operate with Educators and Learners as I was working at Department of Education under Library Services where I was spending more time with learners and Educators. I was re- establishing libraries, training Educators on how to use libraries with the aim of promoting reading at school.

I worked at Department of Education under Library Services for 2 years and Im currently working at Kaitswe Combined School as an assistant in the Library.

Working at these Department helped me develop so many skills such as reading and writing skills, leadership skills, Computer skills, Communication and good administrative skills. It also built my confidence as I use to present a lot, educating Principals, educators and learners on the importance of reading as well as how to use libraries at school. I was also establishing libraries at school, celebrating library evens and establishing reading clubs at school with the aim of promoting reading at schools.

I'm still doing my good work of promoting reading as I'm currently working as an assistant at my local School where I am assisting teachers to find relevant study materials for their learners and motivating learners and community to visit school library and read.

I'm also planning to start establishing reading clubs at the school and in our community to improve and promote reading.

I'm a honours degree graduate of Library and Information Science, which I studied both theoretical and practical at University of Limpopo.

I also completed my research in my final year where with the topic related to the use of libraries at schools where I have gathered more information about the use of libraries.

I love Information Science as it allow us to share knowledge and information needed.
