Petrus Jacobus Coetzee

I am a very enthusiastic person. I am great at working in teams but can also complete complicated tasks on my own. I love learning new skills to further develop myself and to convey the skills learned to other people.

I have a massive passion for the food industry in South Africa and I live every day to improve it where I possibly can. This passion also extends into teaching people new skills.

My family and friends are extremely important to me as they are key to having a successful life. 

WORK EXPERIENCE

Food Consulting services – Senior Hygiene auditor

2021–Current 

Conducting hygiene/health and safety inspections/risk assessments, with regards to the R638 and ISO 10049, at various high-profile clients throughout South Africa and all neighboring countries. Legionella and COVID-19 inspections also formed part of my duties, but mostly inspecting and advising clients regarding food safety and general Health & Safety matters in the workplace. Performing microbiological sampling at clients. Maintaining and updating a detailed database of all clients. Maintaining existing client relationships and establishing new ones.  

Assisting with training new staff members. Filming and executing educational videos for marketing purposes. Provided training to clients and assisted in creating training videos.

Managing and keeping track of all the auditors’ timesheets and ensuring everyone

is on track and to pick up whether there are any areas in which they struggle and need extra help. Was also tasked with managing the team when I was the most senior on site.

Food Consulting Services - Lab Technician 

2017–2018

Performed the full range of biological testing on a wide range of food, water and swabbed samples in a SANAS accredited laboratory. Took part in sensory evaluation test in comparing and grading a wide range of food products based on taste, smell, texture and colours. Performed very sensitive monthly quality control test to ensure retention of laboratory accreditations.
