Education / Training
About Pat Naidoo:
As an educator of Mathematics, it is my mission to provide every learner with a foundation from which to develop a liking for the subject and transform this liking into a love for problem-solving in Mathematics, Statistics, Science, IT and Business disciplines. Hence, my approach to teaching focusses more on relevance to reality i.e. application to real-life situations without overlooking the logic and rigours of sound Mathematical Principles.
More specifically, my objectives have always been:
To identify the mathematical strengths and weakness/es of each learner.
To provide appropriate interventions and support to remedy the weaknesses identified.
To use the strengths to promote and stimulate problem-solving.
To constantly make learners aware of the vast application of mathematics to our every day lives
To ensure that there is continuous improvement in the learners performance and that this must translate to better grades at school and ultimately at Tertiary Level.
Some of the highlights of my Teaching career have been:
Obtaining 100% pass rates with my Grade 12 Mathematics students, being chosen as a sub-examiner for the Grade 12 Mathematics Paper 2 and being awarded an average 4.5/5 Student Evaluation by my current batch of Quantitative Techniques (B Com) and Mathematica Principles (IT) students.
