Olleen Naidoo

I am an ethical, well organised and enthusiastic individual who aims to expand my skills
and knowledge by growing in the science industry. Always displaying a willing and
helpful manner to any task given to me, most describes my personality. I am easy going by nature, but focused enough to take responsibility in any environment. In 2021, I graduated with an Honours Degree in Microbiology. I have worked part time as a waitress throughout my studies. Throughout my studies, I have achieved several Merit Certificates and the Deans Commendation.I have excellent computer knowledge, communication, time management and problem solving skills.
I am looking forward to a new and exciting opportunity to kick off my career in the
science industry.

I have worked as RDNA demonstrator  in University of KwaZulu-Natal. My tasks included  making  Agrose gel, Nutrient Agar and broth. I also had to demonstrate PCR, Isolating DNA and Aseptic Techniques; Mark scripts, Maintain and Clean the laboratory.

I have also worked as waitress, host and service ambassador in Spur and Hussar Grill. My tasks were to Deliver food, Multitasking and  Sales.

I have an Honours Degree in  Microbiology. My Honours Research Project Topic was the  Expression of recombinant human toll like receptor 4 (TLR4) in Escherichia coli system: a reagent for immunological research studies. The skills that I gained from my project was Research; DNA/Plasmid Isolation;  Transformation; Protein Expression; Western Blot; Affinity Chromatography Purification;Trouble Shooting; Aseptic techniques and Autoclaving;  Micro Pipetting and Centrifuging; Laboratory Maintenance and  Presentation Skills.

I have a bachelor degree in Microbiology and Biochemistry. My Skills gained were Water quality, Beer and Yogurt Production, food quality, immuno and protein chemistry and DNA chemistry.
