About Ntokozo Ngonyama:
I am a motivated and detail-oriented IT Business Analyst Intern with a Diploma in Information and Communications Technology in Business Analysis as well as an Advanced Diploma in Business Analysis (NQF 7). I demonstrate a strong foundation in systems analysis, data management, process improvement and stakeholder engagement. I am skilled in analysing business requirements, documenting functional specifications, and contributing to the successful delivery of ICT projects within dynamic environment.
Experience
I am currently an IT Business Analyst intern at Foskor, the acid division of the mining conglomerate.
My duties include:
Assist in analyzing current business processes in the Acid Division, especially those linked to IT systems (e.g., SAP, asset management tools, lab systems).
Identify inefficiencies or areas for improvement in workflows (e.g., plant maintenance, production tracking, inventory, procurement).
Document "as-is" and "to-be" business process maps under the guidance of senior analysts.
Support existing IT systems used in the acid plant (e.g., ERP, MES, LIMS data integrations).
Assist with system testing, updates, or configuration changes as per business requirements.
Help troubleshoot basic user issues and escalate technical problems to IT teams.
Collect, clean, and analyze production or operational data from systems (e.g., downtime, acid output, inventory).
Assist in preparing dashboards or reports for management using tools like Excel, Power BI.
Ensure data quality and consistency across different systems.
Participate in stakeholder meetings (engineering, production, supply chain) to gather IT or business requirements.
Help document user stories, functional specs, or change requests.
Translate user needs into technical language for developers or IT teams.
Support documentation of system procedures, SOPs, and training materials.
Ensure IT practices comply with internal policies (e.g., data integrity, cybersecurity, safety).
Help maintain audit trails and change logs for system updates.
Work with cross-functional teams: production, engineering, IT, safety, and procurement.
Assist in training users or supporting user adoption for new systems or tools.
Help manage communication between technical teams and operational staff.
Provide administrative and analytical support on IT-related projects (e.g., system upgrades, automation tools).
Track tasks, timelines, and issues using tools like MS Project, JIRA, or Excel.
Assist in preparing presentations or reports for project updates.
Education
I hold a Diploma in Information and Communications Technology in Business Analysis as well as an Advanced Diploma in Business Analysis. I am also in the process to of completing a certificate in Data Analysis from the University of Cape Town.
