I am a dynamic and accomplished journalist with extensive experience in the fields of media. With over seven years of experience working in various roles, including as a radio and television reporter, project manager, lifestyle reporter, columnist and human interest writer I have developed a unique set of skills and knowledge that can make me valuable in any organization or team.

Experience

In my role as head of news I showed demonstrable senior experience within a high profile, busy news, media and social team, used to managing day to day content. I have more than two years of experience in putting robust systems and processes in place to manage a news website content and social media communities. I was part of a core team in the creation and delivery of campaigns through news and media channels including effective use of insight, evaluation and behavior change techniques. Experience of advising senior leaders on reputation and media handling, and building the profile of senior team and board members to support organizational objectives.

Education

I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Science with special endorsements in Journalism and Media Studies from the University of the Free State.

With seven years of experience as a journalist I can fully develop relevant and credible content that can be shared on your various platforms.

My experience in journalism saw its foundations at the SABC News where I worked in both television and radio. I also have very strong foundations in food & lifestyle journalism as well as a strong footing in African and South African agricultural writing, public health journalism and business journalism.

I was also the editor for the two-time WAN-IFRA award-winning publication Health For Mzansi and the host of its award wining health & lifestyle podcast, Sisters Without Shame a show that sought to address and remove the cultural stigmas and shame around discussions of health and wellness in South Africa.
