Nkokae Tshegofatso

Nkokae is a hard-working, self-motivated and driven young lady who joined Deloitte in January 2022. She is currently serving as a Junior Analyst in the InfinityX Graduate Programme within the Core Business Operations - Data Science & Data Engineering team.

Having completed a BSc Econometrics degree at the University of the Free State in 2020, Nkokae’s love for statistics and data analytics drove her to pursue a BSc Hons Mathematical Statistics degree. Her Statistical degree has allowed her to nurture her strong analytical and quantitative skills, not limited to that it has also provided the aptitude to work in a multidisciplinary environment. Upon enrolling for her degree, she was hired as a statistic tutor within the university’s statistic department; a responsibility she undertook because of her innate desire to help people.

Driven by her willingness and desire to learn new things and dig deeper than the surface, Nkokae seeks challenging experiences that provide plentiful opportunities for growth. Nkokae is interested in providing client based solutions which not only meet their expectations but fulfils their expectations. As an aspiring FRM and CFA, Nkokae wants to challenge herself to learn as much as she can to obtain any certifications and pass her board exams that will enable her to become a great asset to her team.

I am a graduate currently rotating in the data science and data engineering team. I am passionate about big data and solving business problems with machine learning, statistics and software engineering. I use R, Excel and Power BI for data visualization and dashboard/application development. I use also learning python to conduct my machine learning projects with an interest in deep learning tensor flow and keras. We mostly use structured data in the consulting, where we pull the data from the data warehouse/cloud platform using SQL

BSc Hons Mathematical Statistics: I majored in Mathematical Statistics. My core modules were: Bayesian Analysis, Big Data Analysis, Stochastic Processes, Multivariate Analysis and Methods. I obtained an average of 65%. Research: A different approach of choosing a threshold using peak over threshold. 

BSc Econometrics: I majored in Economics and Mathematical Statistics. My core modules were: Differential Equations, Financial Mathematics, Statistical Programming, Inference, Time Series, Investment, Economics. I obtained an average of 69%
