About Nicole Blakeway:
I hope to be involved in science for the foreseeable future. It is my career dream to be a
scientist or to apply my scientific background to work. I especially enjoy Microbiology, but also
enjoy applying what I have learnt from Biochemistry in practical situations.
Workplace Personality
I am adaptive, I am able to work long hours and enjoy working in a team environment. I am
good at following instructions. I can work independently, and I enjoy learning new things. I am
a quick learner, who is responsible, and I am a level-headed person. I like to show initiative
and will do my best to represent the company and its values. I am a creative thinker and like
to challenge myself. I like to do things right the first time and I take responsibility for my actions,
if I make a mistake, I am always accountable for my actions.
Skills & Abilities
I am fully fluent in English and have a basic understanding of Afrikaans. I have good
microbiology skills; can analyse and interpret data; am able to do literature research and can
follow protocols. I proficient in statistical analysis and am able to present data in a concise and
methodical manner. I am trained in receiving, storage, inoculation, and evaluation of different
plant pathogens during post-harvest efficacy experiments and recording of experimental data.
I can adhere to health and safety protocols. My hobbies including brewing beers and playing
football.
