Communications Manager Project 90 by 2030 I developed and implemented communications and public relations strategies and campaigns for this non-profit organisation, and worked closely with teams to ensure effective communication of key messaging, both internally and externally.
I executed a successful PR campaign for their youth program, YouLead, which culminated in our attendance at the World Economic Forum in Davos in Jan 2020, where Ayakha shared a stage with Greta Thunberg and other luminaries.
I worked on the press and publicity for this campaign and we generated incredible press across television (SABC 1,2,3, eTV, ENCA, Bloomberg, etc); Radio (Cape Talk, Class FM, 702, Smile, Kaya, ...), Print (City Press, Sunday Times, The Star, Cape Argus, ...) and on social media.
Project Manager Live The Adventure Ltd. I ran a successful project for Youtube Influencer Louis Cole - aka 'FunForLouis' - raising over R1Million on Kickstarter for the commencement of the project. I managed all strands of the creative, including website development, content creation, pitch desk creation for partner-brands and sponsors, storyline research and scripting (and fixing), budget control, talent search & management, development of online stores, development of new and existing brand relationships, management of all on-the-ground logistics - along with a diverse team working remotely from many countries across the globe.
Footage from the 90-day-round-the-world-flight in a single-engine aircraft was used to make a feature-length documentary entitled "Beyond Borders", and we simultaneously launched a successful online campaign across Youtube, Facebook, Instagram and in the international press, which drove engagement with our audience and generated excellent pre-sales of the film.
Freelance Producer Film Industry South Africa I worked as a production manager and line producer, on commercials, films, short documentaries, audio messages and videos in various TV and Internet formats. My duties included script breakdown and costing; budgeting; scheduling, casting, crewing, production management; and cost-reporting.
