Nande Pityolo

My name is Nande Pityolo. I am an IT graduate of Nelson Mandela University. I obtained my National Diploma in Information Technology: Communication Networks in 2021. 

I am seeking an employment opportunity to gain practical work experience in IT related environment or beyond. I am currently based in Queenstown, but willing to travel to East London should the vacancy arise.

My area of focus at school (NMU) was IT Networking. Some of the concepts I was taught were the network communication infrastructure - the routers and switches. However, I do have a basic knowledge about computers. I have one, a laptop - I have been using it since 2017. I have a basic knowledge about MS Office applications. I was introduced to programming through C# to create a basic windows application. I also used Microsoft SQL server to store and retrieve dummy data for the C# project.  

My goal is to explore these concepts on an industry-based environment. I hope I do meet the requirements for the post. 

I have worked at VanSchaik Bookstore in Cape Town for a period of 3 months as a sales assistant. In that period I learnt how to attend any queries the customer have by interacting with a customer face-to-face, or by telephone.

One of my duties entailed assisting a customer with a book or stationery. If we do not have the stationery at shop, I call/refer the customer to other branches who might have a stock in hand. I also performed transactions at the till(s) - cash or card, or existing accounts. Some of the lesser intensive duties included sweeping the floor, packing the stock, organizing the stock chronologically.

In 2021, I obtained my National Diploma in Information Technology: Communication Networks at Nelson Mandela University.

I majored in IT Networking through CCNA Courses supplied by Cisco. Some of the familiar concepts I was taught were the network communication infrastructure such as the routers, switches, and firewall appliances. I was taught MS Office applications as well - I have a basic understanding of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. I have been improving my Excel skills in the past months. I was introduced to programming through C# to create a basic windows application. I also used Microsoft SQL server to store and retrieve dummy data for the C# project. I intend on exploring these theoretical concepts on a deeper level in the workplace to advance my knowledge.
