1. Stock Control:
 Ordering of chronic medication
 Weekly stock count
 Recordkeeping of daily and weekly stock medical usage
 Projecting usage for following week
 Ordering medical stock on a weekly basis
 Billing residents for stocks used on a monthly basis
2. Management of scheduled-, as well as cold chain drugs/medication
3. Packing, monitoring and issuing of emergency packs for 13 areas
4. Liaise with sponsors of residents regarding medical care
5. Multidisciplinary teamwork, communication and collaboration to ensure holistic care
6. Packing and issuing of chronic and prescribed medication
7. Primary healthcare management for approximately 130 residents:
 Attending to medical slips
 Holistic assessment of resident with a health problem
 Management of health problem, including given appropriate treatment and referral of residents to the 
clinic, hospital, doctor or dentist, as required
 Wound care
 Mental health nursing, including regular mental status evaluations and referrals to psychiatrists.
 Accompanying residents to the referred doctor, dentist, etc.
 Weaning residents off mind- altering substances and monitor vitals and emotional stability
 24/7 medical standby for emergencies
 Compiling of individual care plans according to scientific based evidence, moral and ethical 
values, principles and protocols as set out as per Scope of Practice and employer. Regular evaluation of 
each resident's wellbeing
 Recordkeeping of all treatment given, actions taken and care plans.
 Counselling and health education
 Admission assessments to obtain a baseline and history of each resident.
