Marise van der Merwe

I am a highly motivated and progress focused private practicing healthcare professional with a long-standing background in the field of nutrition and health. I believe my track record of organizational and administrative skills, combined with my knowledge and understanding of nutrition, genetics, medical terminology and human physiology and disease, will prove valuable.

Throughout the course of my career, I have perfected my clinical documentation, presentation, and communication skills with the ability to break down and simplify concepts for clear understanding. I am a capable and consistent problem solver who is focused on prioritizing and managing projects with proficiency.

In my previous and current role, I contributed communication, organization, and patient management skills toward my business improvement. I am skilled in planning and implementing and communicating appropriate and powerful patient education and care plans.  I am progressive minded with strong time-management talents and in tune with new developments in my field. I enjoy collective brainstorming sessions with patients and colleagues, which allows me to prioritize and coordinate activities to achieve goals.

I have 23 years experience in clinical dietetics, both in-hospital and private practice. I believe nutrition to be part of a healthy lifestyle to improve health and wellbeing. The majorrity of my clients are adults with various medical ailments and diagnosed conditions, that usually contribute to weight management as part of my care plan.  In addition to this, I provide various testing services to clients e.g. Genetics, Food Sensitivity testing and Supplementation. I've adapted using technology for consultations and see more than half of my clients via online consultations.
