About Margeaux Goosen:
I am a winemaker situated in the Hemel-en-Aarde valley, Western Cape, South Africa. After completing an Honors in Wine Biotechnology, I was introduced to the fine hand-crafted wines from the H&A valley. Working with a small team, I have been exposed to multiple facets of the wine industry including winemaking, vinegrowing, marketing, sales, exports, labelling, and general cellar management. I am seeking a new challenge to further push my creative and innovative boundaries. I see myself as a person that gets the job done through my immense passion for wine and the development of the industry. In order to so, I have vowed to invest in myself by accepting challenges everyday with an inquisitive mindset, attention to detail and embracing them with a smile.

Responsibilities and skills
Harvest:
- Sampling of grapes
- Managing vineyard pickers and cellar staff
- Mentoring and managing interns
- Estimation of yields
- Preparation of cellar for harvest
- Cleaning and sterilisng equipment
- Proceedings of processing grapes
- Management of crushing and pressing
- Fermentation control
- Capturing sugars and temperatures
- Punch downs
- Analyse chemical reports and carry out additions where needed
- Barrel work: washing, stacking, stock take management, filling, topping
Vinification:
- Management of full barrels throughout the year
- Decisions of blending
- Fining and filtering
- Oversee bottling
Labelling and Packaging:
- Printing and design of labels
- Management and orders of bottles and corks
- Management of staff
Exports and Local Deliveries:
- Organisation of deliveries to private clients, restaurants, wine shops and online shops
Certifications and Stock:
- Certification applications for harvest, barrels and bottled wine
- Management and capturing of stock
- Monthly stock count
- Oversee orders, invoicing and packing slips
Tastings and Trade:
- Present tastings for private clients, trade and media
- Organise, host and present informative talks about the region and its wines
