Makabongwe Mjelo

I am a reliable and approachable HR professional with three years of experience in administrative and recruitment support roles. I have worked in both public and private sectors, gaining hands on experience in recruitment, employee development, bursary and study support and HR coordination. I am patiently about supporting people and processes, and I take pride in being organised, detail oriented, and efficient in managing HR tasks. I am now seeking an opportunity to grow further and gain broader exposure in a professional environment where I can apply my skills, contribute meaningfully and continue learning.

I have 3 years of experience in human resources and administrative support roles. I spent 2 years as an hr intern in the recruitment department at the Northern Cape Department of Education, where I was involved in candidate sourcing, interview coordination and administrative tasks. I am currently working as an hr administrative assistant on a 1-year contract where I support employee development initiatives, manage bursary student placements, handle study agreements and assist the head of HR with barriers tasks and meetings. 

I have also posted a successful job shadow day for students, which earned positive feedback from both participants and staff bleeding to my nomination for the RGA magic awards. Additionally, I completed a 6 months internal project within 3 months demonstrating my ability to deliver high quality work under pressure. My experience has equipped me with strong organisational, communication and problems solving skills, and I am confident in my ability to contribute effectively in administrative and support roles.

I hold a National Diploma in Human Resources Management, which eye completed in 2019 at Walter Sisulu University. Curing my studies I majored in Business Management and Personnel Management, and completed key modules such as Industrial Relations, Labour Law and Management of Training. I also enrolled for a Btech in Human Resources Management which I began in 2019 but did not complete after not passing the Research Methodology module.
