Management and Supervision of staff and workload
• Ensure shift rosters are drawn up and communicated
• Allocate and communicate work prior to shifts
• Monitor team’s daily performance against targets
• Manage staff timekeeping, leave rosters, overtime, and attendance (100 staff members)
• Ensure staff are adequately trained and aware of relevant policies and procedures
• Drive cost awareness – waste, returns, targets
• Attend to and resolve relevant disciplinary matters
• Schedule and conduct shift meetings, provide feedback where required
• Recruit and interview where required.

Production Management
• Ensure that the shift is fully always manned to meet production requirements
• Ensure the smooth operation of production and swiftly attend to matters which constrain production
• Planning of bulk and bag loads
• Investigation of shift related items on NCR register
• Compiling relevant reports – GM, pellet press, Mixing ext.
• Managing quality of feed - ensuring all company standards are met on each ton produced and delivered to client

Stock Management
• Ensure bin inspections are carried out and recorded as required
• Maintain daily visual checks of raw materials to ensure product quality 
• Ensure samples taken are checked against production log sheets
• Ensure FIFO is implemented and followed
• Maintaining stock levels (bins, Micro bins, silos, bagged stock and incoming raw materials

Housekeeping, Standards and Health & Safety
• Implement and manage general housekeeping, awareness, and compliance to company policies and procedures and OHS act standards
• Ensure regular plant maintenance id conducted by liaising with plant and maintenance manager
• Ensure scales and weighbridge are calibrated and working correctly
• Ensure daily checks are done as per shift checklists
• Conducting root cause analysis where required
• Housekeeping of plant, stores, trucks, and grounds
• Ensuring ISO standards are adhered to in plant, stores, and trucks
• Ensuring calibrations are done on necessary equipment
• Implement and monitor shift quality standards as per the quality and health & safety standards
• Ensure dusting and deep cleaning is completed and recorded

Managing and coordination of loads and trucks
• Ensure trucks are loaded according to requirements and according to standards and correct feed is loaded as per order
• Ensure all deliveries are on time and at correct client (follow ups)
• Ensure trucks, roads and farms adhere to safety procedures and client’s requests
• Overall, always try to keep costs low, quality high and customer service excellent
• Liaising with transporters for service and maintenance on all trucks
• Trucks/drivers are at company standards for deliveries to client
• Logistics – work with all plants for truck planning
• Work closely with production for planning
• Ensure deep cleaning and dusting is completed and recorded
