Lester Sturgeon

I, Lester Charles Sturgeon (ID 8912175027083, Psira Number 3016268) am a working professional, Head of Security on a mine based in Postmasburg, Northern Cape. With this title I have the knowledge of confidential informational as well as documents, valuablegoods, and large amounts of cash that I travel to and from work with. This puts myself and my family, my fiancé and my two daughters aged 2 and 5, at risk. These documents need to be protected at all times as if they were to be stolen it will affect the integrity of the mine. I want to be in the position where I can prevent these items from being stolen and/or jeopardised and protect my community and my family. I feel these items are at risk as there was an attempted hijacking on the mine I work at and it is an ongoing case at this moment in time. Case number: 174/05/2021 (lodged at Postmasburg Police Station). I have successfully completed my self reliance course at Ronin Protective Services in which I hold a certificate for (please find attachment), within this course the modules were: first aid and catastrophic bleeding management, personal situational awareness, residential security, urban contingency planning, anti-hijack drive, close quarter combat, personal weapons use and defences. I attended this course on the 3rd of May 2019 for the duration of 5 weeks and mycertificate number is 12950617.

I have been in the security industry for the past 5 years; in those 5 years, I've done very high-profile jobs including working my way up to head of security on a mine in the northern cape. I Managed a team of 24 guards on the mine as well as created SOPS for certain scenarios, and ensure they followed correctly. I handled very important internal investigations as well as external, working closely with SAPS and the HAWKS.
