About Leone du Buisson:
I am an energetic and driven hospitality manager with ample years experience and a genuine passion for delivering first-rate service to guests. I am committed to fostering excellent relationship to encourage recurring business. As a dedicated wife and mother of two sons, along with a daughter-in-law, I bring a personal touch and family -oriented approach to my work in the hospitality industry.
Experience
For the past two years, my husband and I have managed Droombos Restaurant and Venue Hire in Great Brak River, Western Cape. It is on a small holding and we have created a botanical vibe to the place. We are the owners of Droombos and have been responsible for the daily operations, running the business from 8 am to 4 pm, six days a week.
In additions to managing the restaurant, we've hosted a variety of functions, catering for up to 80 guests. Our events have ranged from weddings and baby showers to corporate conferences, and we've tailored our menu to suit each occasion, offering dishes such as lamb on the spit, oxtail, and a variety of sides, salads and desserts.
This experience has been invaluable in developing our skills within the hospitality industry, and we have thoroughly enjoyed the process of growing the business. Some key skills we've developed include:
Effectively managing daily operations
Ensuring a positive guest experience from start to finish
Recruiting, training, and monitoring staff performance
Managing a busy food and beverage operation
Creating a welcoming and relaxing ambience for customers
Organising and hosting conferences, weddings, and other functions
Prior to this, I ran a 5* Guest House in Hilton, KwaZulu-Natal, for 10 years, during which time I was repeatedly rated as top host. My husband spent 40 years flying helicopters professionally, including training in the South African Airforce, where he gained experience across a broad range of disciplines.
