I consider myself to be a hard-working person, who pays meticulous attention to detail and who has good interpersonal and administration skills.

I am strong-willed but courteous, accurate in everything I undertake, and also possess strong leadership skills. I am a highly motivated person; a self-starter who is able to work on my own and as part of a team.

Experience

I possess 10 years’ experience in an FMCG environment; specifically, in stock control and warehousing, where exposure to working accurately under pressure and co-ordinating complex and competing demands from customers was my daily bread.

 

As cashier, stock controller and receiving manager, I have developed a very good grasp of technical and computer skills, including SAP. My approach to work is to adopt a can-do attitude – especially in new situations - and I am confident that I could learn another new operating system and attendant scheduling program in a short space of time. 

 

As Receiving Manager, I was required to be conversant with the OHS Act as well as to cultivate and maintain customer/stakeholder relations.  Creating staff rosters and managing and recording overtime and leave were also part of my responsibilities. 

 

As a Stock Controller, in addition to performing a large number of administrative functions, my chief responsibility was to ensure integrity between the various stages of the process and to ensure accurate and timely delivery of goods, as well as to ensure customer satisfaction.  Supplying quotes, reducing cost overruns, invoicing timeously and accurately as well as scheduling tasks intelligently, formed the core of my responsibilities.

 

As a stock controller as well as a receiving manager, I have come to have an excellent grasp of procedures in relation to inbound, stock management, outbound, order fulfilment, returns processes, housekeeping (5s), stock replenishment, variance investigation, master-data maintenance, effective root-cause analysis and the implementation of corrective measures. In my work across various FMCG companies, I frequently take the initiative to develop fresh ways to deliver superior service to both internal and external clients.

 

Over the years, I have developed sound planning capabilities. For instance, as a Receiving Manager, daily, weekly and monthly planning is necessary to ensure that you reach and possibly exceed, set targets. In addition to being a well-organised individual who takes pride in my work, I possess the ability to work well under pressure, and generally work well in a team or on my own initiative. Whenever it has been necessary to work extended hours – for stock-takes or higher customer demand – I have been willing to do so over weekends in order to meet internal or external customer expectations.

Education

In addition to a Matriculation certificate, I possess a Bachelor of commerce in Supply Chain Management, National Diplomas in Business and Marketing Management and in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. I also have an ISO Certificate as an Internal Auditor, and I am currently studying of a Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Supply Chain Management with Mancosa
