During my 4-year apprenticeship, I acquired a diverse skill set in various technical areas. I received training in essential aspects such as first aid, occupational safety, and fire fighting to ensure a safe work environment. Additionally, I honed my abilities in interpreting basic drawings, understanding tolerance and fits in both metric and imperial systems, and working with a wide range of materials, including ferrous and non-ferrous metals and plastics.

My experience extends to operating and maintaining workshop equipment, applying fundamental hand skills, basic welding, and handling tasks related to lifting and moving equipment. I became proficient in aligning v-belts and pulleys, chain drives, and couplings. I am well-versed in dealing with seals, gaskets, and packing materials, and I have the expertise to repair gearboxes, brakes, clutches, and centrifugal pumps.

Furthermore, I have hands-on experience in building and maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic systems, working with thread fasteners, key and locking devices, and understanding lubricants and lubrication systems. My skills also encompass managing bushes and bearings, pipes, and pipe fittings Throughout my apprenticeship, I consistently demonstrated the ability to align couplings and effectively troubleshoot and repair various mechanical components.

Overall, my extensive apprenticeship has equipped me with a strong foundation in mechanical and technical skills, making me a valuable asset in the field of Fitting and turning.

I completed my matriculation in 2014 and then pursued further education at Tshwane South College from 2015 to 2016, where I completed my N3 and progressed to N4 to N6. Afterward, I embarked on a training journey at Tshwane South College, where I obtained certificates ranging from Level 1 to Level 3 in various disciplines, including basic fitting and rigging, basic welding module 1, basic fitting module 2, and advanced fitting module 2, and advanced turning module 2 and 3. Following my training, I continued my educational journey by enrolling in the Engineering Skills Academy to obtain my Trade Test Certificate qualification.
