About Kirsty Veitch:

I am a medical doctor working in Primary Health Care, Emergency Medicine, and Ophthalmology in Cape Town. I have three years of clinical experience and am passionate about patient-centered care, medical education, research, and innovation.

Experience

I completed my medical internship at Mitchells Plain Hospital (Cape Town, Western Cape), and my community service year at in Ophthalmology and Emergency Medicine at Rob Ferriera Hospital (Mbombela, Mpumalanga). I am currently working in Primary Health Care, Emergency Medicine, and Ophthalmology in Cape Town. 

Education

I am a medical officer living and working in Cape Town. I completed a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Psychology and Media and Writing in 2012 and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 2019 – both at the University of Cape Town (UCT). I received honours overall for both degrees, as well as the Anaesthesia Class Prize.
