Katherine Lynn Thambiran

I am an experienced medical technologist with 10 years clinical laboratory experience. With a passion for technology and applications, I have always seen myself working “beyond the bench”. I have sound knowledge in QC, troubleshooting and having been a client for so long, I know exactly what clients need from Diagnostic suppliers in order to run a laboratory efficiently. 

1. Currently employed at Lancet Laboratories for the past 7 years. Started off as a medical technologist in Ethekwini heart hospital. In 2019, I was promoted as senior Medical Technologist and became the HOD of Parklands Laboratory. I now work at the durban diagnostic center as HOD of the lab. 
2. Started off in the laboratory environment in the National Health Laboratory Service in 2013 at Addington Hospital at a Medical Laboratory Student. Went to be employed at King Edward VIII Hospital in 2014 to complete my 18 month internship which was a prerequisite for the clinical pathology board examination. Upon completion of the SMLTSA board exam, in 2015 I was promoted to medical technologist and served my community service starting at Osindisweni Hospital and ending at Ngwelezane Hospital. 

• 2013- Completed National Diploma in Biomedical Technology.
• 2016- Bachelor of Technology I Biomedical Technology.
